Rep. Maxine Waters says three phrases to Jim Jordan that all of us wished somebody to say
When will life be “normal” again, Jordan claimed to want to know – and he made it clear that he thought Fauci was responsible for the lack of normalcy. Don’t mind the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, don’t mind the governors, don’t mind the still raging pandemic that kills around 700 people every day. Fauci tried to emphasize the importance of widespread vaccination in order to bring COVID-19 rates down and return to the normal state that Jordan kept talking about, but Jordan was more interested in interrupting it.
What determines when? What? What measure? I mean are we just going to keep doing this forever? Or when, when do we get to the point, what measure, what standard, what objective result do we have to achieve before the Americans get their freedom and freedom back?
“You know, you indicate freedom and freedom,” replied Fauci. “I consider it a public health measure to prevent people from dying and going to the hospital.”
You don’t think Americans’ freedoms have been threatened in the past year, Dr. Fauci? You have been attacked! Have your freedom! ” After a long round of Jordan yelling about alleged attacks on the constitution, his time ran out when he asked Fauci again when and refused to accept an answer that depends on CDC guidelines.
“Right now we have about 60,000 infections a day, which is a very big risk for an increase,” said Fauci. “We’re not talking about freedoms. We’re talking about a pandemic that killed 560,000 Americans. We talk about that. “
“I understand,” said Jordan. “I understand how serious this is,” but … he doesn’t really care, as he repeatedly made clear. “I understand how serious this is” was just one linchpin for Jordan.
At that point, Jordan’s time ran out and he kept talking.
Give us some objective standards, and when certain things are achieved we may be able to return to our freedoms. When? What are the numbers “
“At the moment we are at an unacceptably high level,” replied Fauci. “It’s unacceptably high every day, regardless of who you are. What you will see, as more and more people get vaccinated and we are getting more than three million people a day, the level of infection will keep dropping and little by little there will be more flexibility in the things you talk about. “
“Tell me the number,” demanded Jordan repeatedly Jim Clyburn, chairman of the Coronavirus Crisis Subcommittee, recognized Rep. Maxine Waters.
Well. We all know how good things go when someone tries to take their time with Waters. It started with “Reclaim my time”. When Jordan continued screaming, she switched to “Regular order!” Jordan went on.
“Your time is up, sir,” Waters finally snapped. “You have to respect the chair and shut up.”
These last three words are the definition of an evergreen statement.
